How does it work?

Membership

To access the Nortrip travel guide, you must have an active membership.

In brief

As a Nortrip member, you can park your motorhome for up to 24 hours completely free at all Nortrip hosts. It is a prerequisite that you can present a valid Nortrip membership card upon arrival. Nortrip hosts have made 1-3 parking spaces available for Nortrip members, and there is no guarantee of availability upon arrival. However, many hosts want to be contacted in advance, and then you will be able to get a clue as to whether there are available parking spaces when you arrive.

Is it a summer concept?

Many of the hosts are open all year round and can receive visitors all year round. The concept will therefore be of great pleasure to travelers who want to experience Norway also outside the high seasons.

Is there a compulsion to buy for motorhome tourists?

No, you are not obligated to buy anything. There is probably still an expectation in the air that you buy some of the products or services that are offered. We know that our hosts are committed and would have greatly appreciated this. But of course it's up to you!

Can you book parking?

It is basically up to each host if they want to be contacted in advance. If the host wishes, the host's phone number is listed in the host entry.

Can large motorhomes use the concept?

In some places it is cramped and not suitable for large cars. Check that the host allows cars over 10 meters and/or heavier than 3.5 tons. Information about this dinner you in the host listing.

Can you use a caravan, tent or other forms of accommodation?

No. Nortrip is currently for motorhomes only.

Is there a time limit on motorhome parking?

Yes. The idea of ​​the concept is that you as a motorhome holidaymaker should have a place to stand for the night before you travel on. You can stay up to 24 hours with each host. Then there will be good rolling in each place, and the farms can receive more visitors.

Does the host need to offer any facilities?

No. Part of the idea of ​​the concept is that it should be simple. As a motorhome holidaymaker, you must be self-sufficient in water and toilets. However, some hosts may offer additional services, such as electricity, water, 24-hour toilet and bathroom. In these cases, it is up to the host to decide whether to charge for this.

How long does the membership last?

Nortrip membership is valid for one year at a time, from 15.3. to 14.3. the year after.

How many stops does each host offer?

The hosts should not be perceived as campsites, so there will only be 1-3 motorhome pitches at each host. This is in line with European concepts.

How are the hosts selected?

It is important to us that the hosts are hospitable and understand the concept, and that they have good products and services to offer. Furthermore, nature and location also play a role.

Can I set up camping gear?

If there is room, you can usually do so, as long as you pack it down for the night. We recommend always asking the host first anyway.

Can I use a camper without a toilet?

Yes, but only to visit hosts who have a 24-hour toilet. Many hosts have toilets during the day, but when they close, the toilet also closes. If you do not have a toilet, it is important that you check whether the host you want to visit has 24-hour toilet facilities. You can also set this as a search filter on the front page.
